# Reds to face Sheffield United in FA Cup

Manchester United have been drawn to face League One side Sheffield United in the third round of the FA Cup.

The Reds will welcome the Blades to Old Trafford on the weekend of the 9th of January, with the exact date of the tie yet to be determined.

Louis van Gaal’s side will be happy with the draw, but it is by no means the easiest draw in the tie, with Nigel Adkins’ side currently twelfth in the League One table and challenging for promotion.

Sheffield United have been known for their dangerous cup runs recently, having reached the Capital One Cup semi-finals last season and reaching the FA Cup semi-finals the year before.

The last time United faced the Blades, it was a positive result, with the Reds recording a 2-0 victory at home. They’ll be hoping for the same this time around and will be desperate to do well in a competition they have failed to win since 2004.
