Manchester United’s journey in the Champions League may be over for the current season, but they will remain in European competition.
That’s right, United’s European travels continue in the Europa League after Christmas, the competition that has been deemed an “embarrassment” by former United defender Rio Ferdinand.
But Europe’s secondary club competition should be afforded some respect and there are some top, top teams in the bracket for the round of 32 draw which will take place on Monday in Nyon. On a whole, the teams remaining are pretty evenly-matched and United will have a battle on their hands if they are to go all the way to the final in Basel in May.
