# Valdes reaches agreement with United

Manchester United have agreed to let Victor Valdes leave the club for free.

The former Barcelona goalkeeper initially joined the club last year to work with former manager Louis Van Gaal but eventually fell out with the Dutchman.

Despite joining the club to help with his rehabilitation from a debilitating knee injury after rejecting an offer from Liverpool, Valdes was supposedly unhappy to have been forced to train and play with the Under-21 squad to regain match fitness.

And it now seems that his tumultuous time at the club will finally come to an end as, reported by the [Daily Star](https://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/485413/Victor-Valdes-Manchester-United?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+daily-star-football+%28Daily+Star+%3A%3A+Football+Feed%29), after holding talks with his representatives, Valdes’ contract will now be terminated and he will be allowed to openly speak to new suitors.

Interest has already been shown in the Spanish international as he rejected an offer from Besiktas during the summer transfer window whilst his return to full fitness may also attract further interest from Premier League rivals.

The ex-Barcelona man will leave Old Trafford having only made two appearances for the Reds, firstly in the last fifteen minutes of a 1-1 draw against Arsenal and a victory against Hull City on the final day of last season, where he kept a clean sheet.
