# Milan CEO – United midfielder is not joining

AC Milan CEO Adriano Galliani has ruled out the possibility of signing Manchester United’s Marouane Fellaini.

The Rossoneri reportedly had a loan bid rejected for the Belgian midfielder earlier this week, as they look for reinforcements to bolster their hopes of Champions League qualification this season.

However, Galliani has gone on record saying that the 28-year-old will not be arriving at the San Siro this month if other players are not sold first.

Speaking to Italian TV channel [Mediaset Premium](https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/milan-will-not-sign-fellaini-galliani#:cnBV7RCt4z7gZA), the Milan CEO said:

> *Fellaini is a player I like, I have always liked him, but there is no way he is joining Milan.*
>
> *I can only deny that Fellaini is close to Milan. We already have seven players in midfield. If nobody leaves in that area, we will not sign anyone.*
>
> *We are well stocked in all areas. It is very unlikely we will make any signings unless someone leaves.*

However, Italian paper Tuttosport is unconvinced by Galliani’s words, stating that the CEO is still trying to convince owner Silvio Berlusconi to splash the cash and secure Fellaini’s signature.

And it seems that he is going to extreme lengths to convince the former Italian Prime Minister:

Fellaini has made 18 appearances for the Reds this season, but most of those have been off the bench, as Louis van Gaal has either brought him off the bench as a midfielder or up front as an emergency striker.
