It’s April Fools’ Day and that can mean only one thing in the world of football; people making up a load of rubbish and thinking they’re funny, when actually it’s glaringly obvious that whatever they’ve come up with is simply a prank not dissimilar to those seen in the years before.
For example, Goal have declared that Lionel Messi is to join Real Madrid this summer, Southampton have announced that their badge will feature and emoji from next season, and The Telegraph have tried to convince us that a British EU exit would mean a Euro 2016 ban for the English national team… all, of course, complete rubbish.
