# Player Ratings: Man United 1-0 Everton

Anthony Martial’s goal in the second half gave Manchester United all three points against Everton at Old Trafford to boost their top four hopes.

On a day of special significance at Old Trafford, with the renaming of the South Stand in honour of Sir Bobby Charlton, United delivered the goods and would have sent Sir Bobby and the fans in attendance home in a happy mood.

In truth, it was a relatively quiet first half and it seemed as if United had regressed back to the norm after a good performance in the Manchester Derby victory against City before the international break.

However, the introduction of Timothy Fosu-Mensah for Marcos Rojo in the second half changed matters, and it was the young Dutchman who set up Martial for the solitary goal of the game with a great cross.

Roberto Martinez’s side really failed to test the United defence throughout and in the end, it was a thoroughly deserved victory for United.
