# Zlatan Ibrahimovic set to sign for Manchester United

While the main Manchester United news of the day has concerned the sacking of Louis van Gaal and the imminent arrival of José Mourinho, there seems to be developments surrounding the transfer of one Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

According to Dutch paper [De Telegraaf](https://www.telegraaf.nl/telesport/voetbal/buitenlands/25846196/__Ibrahimovic_naar_Man._United__.html), the 34-year-old Swedish striker will be a United player next season, joining the Reds on a free transfer from French champions Paris Saint-Germain.

This will reunite him with Mourinho, who managed the striker during the Swede’s final season at Inter Milan. It was a very successful partnership, with Ibrahimovic being voted the Footballer of the Year in Italy after his 25 goals fired Mourinho’s side to the Serie A title.

De Telegraaf also says that Ibrahimovic had interest from several clubs and an unnamed Chinese club offered a €50 million yearly wage packet for the striker to head to the Far East.

However, the striker rejected the offer after considering his future goals and the Dutch paper reports that he wants to work towards being a manager following his playing career and that his first coaching job will most likely be at United under Mourinho.

Ibrahimovic has won titles in Spain, France, Italy and the Netherlands, scoring over 450 goals in 779 appearances for club and country – and it is likely that England will be the final swansong for the prolific striker.
