According to the Mirror, new Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is trying to lure Cesar Azpilicueta to Old Trafford.
Azpilicueta was one of the very few players that didn’t played well when all of his team mates seemed to be off the boil during the end of Mourinho’s spell at Chelsea and the Portuguese boss apparently wants to sign him, although it’s unclear if Chelsea would be willing to sell him.
The 26-year-old Spaniard still has three years on his contract at Chelsea, however, he will know how new manager Antonio Conte likes to set up.
The Italian likes to play three solid centre-backs with natural wingers playing as wing-backs. If he uses that tactic at Chelsea, Azpilicueta might find himself on the sidelines.

Antonio Conte has also shown interest in a possible replacement for Azpilicueta. He’s apparently keen to sign Kwadwo Asamoah, the Juventus wing-back.
Unfortunately for Manchester United, they’re not the only team that would like Azpilicueta. PSG and Athletic Bilbao would also like to sign him if the Blues decide to sell up.
