# Player Ratings: Watford 3-1 Manchester United

It has been an absolutely terrible week for Manchester United and it was rounded off with a 3-1 defeat against Watford at Vicarage Road on Sunday afternoon.

Once again, United made a terrible start in the first half and they were punished for it, with Etienne Capoue slotting home after Anthony Martial failed to clear the ball near his own penalty area. Although replays showed that Martial was clearly fouled by Miguel Britos as the Frenchman was robbed of the ball, he should not have been toying with the ball in such a dangerous area.

However, United came out for the second half looking much better and predictably, Marcus Rashford poked home the equaliser after some good work from Zlatan Ibrahimovic in the build-up as the Swede drove into the box and caused mayhem in the Watford defence.

From then on, you would have thought that United would come from behind to win, right? Wrong. The Reds capitulated in the final ten minutes, with substitute Camilo Zuniga put the Hornets ahead again with seven minutes remaining after some poor marking before Troy Deeney put an emphatic full stop on the three points with a penalty in stoppage time.

United weren’t good enough again and questions will be asked of the players of the pitch, as well as José Mourinho’s tactics and team selection. They will need to be answered fast if the Reds don’t want to slip off the title pace this early in the season.
