It’s been an uncharacteristically busy January transfer window for Manchester United, despite the lack of incomings at Old Trafford.
With United boss José Mourinho content with the size of his squad and the quality of options available at his disposal, no players came in during the window, despite the Reds being heavily linked with Benfica duo Victor Lindelöf and Gonçalo Guedes at various points during the month.
Despite this, United were happy to conduct transfer business in terms of outgoings, with Mourinho more than willing to allow fringe first-team players to leave the club for pastures anew (for the right price, of course).
In total, five players departed the Theatre of Dreams in January – three leaving on a permanent basis and two temporarily. A loan recall and a loan extension also formed part of United’s transfer window.
Here’s a quick round-up of what went on for the Reds during the January transfer window.
