# Carrick to have United testimonial in June

Manchester United stalwart Michael Carrick has been awarded a testimonial to reward his eleven years of service at Old Trafford.

The club announced a surprise press conference on Thursday afternoon, with Carrick in line to make an announcement – and it brought good news, with the testimonial set for this summer.

A number of players have already been confirmed for the game, and not all of them will be met with a warm welcome by United fans…

Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard and Michael Owen will all line up for the Carrick all-star side.

Gary Neville, Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes, Edwin van der Sar and Ryan Giggs will be playing for the United 2008 side – a choice which could see Cristiano Ronaldo return to play in United colours at Old Trafford.

Michael confirmed that he knows who the manager of the United side will be for his testimonial, but refused to tell anyone yet… could we see Sir Alex Ferguson back in the dugout at Old Trafford?

Carrick has made 443 appearances for United to date, winning five Premier League titles and one Champions League
