# Will Man United get into the top four?

It seems as though Manchester United have been languishing in sixth for an eternity. There have been opportunities for United to break into the Champions League places, but it seems as if any time a chance arises, United respond with an untimely draw – just like last weekend.

United are on a 17 game unbeaten run in the league, dating back to their 4-0 humbling at Stamford Bridge in October. On the face of it, that would appear to be an impressive achievement.

However, just nine of those 17 games have been victories. In the remaining eight draws you’d be able to make a convincing argument to say that United had the chances to comfortably win those games. Most of which have been against teams you’d expect United to beat, which adds to the frustrations.

In the final few months of the season, United have trips to Arsenal, Tottenham and City to look forward to and will host Everton and Chelsea at Old Trafford.

Not exactly a reassuring sequence of fixtures for a team who are already playing catch up.

Finishing inside the top four this season does not look likely for United, but they have a good chance of securing Champions League football by winning the Europa League.

And wouldn’t it be even sweeter if United won the Europa League to qualify for the Champions League at the expense of Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City or Liverpool?
