# Valencia interested in loan deal for Pereira

La Liga side Valencia are interested in signing Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira on loan, according to SER Deportivos Valencia (via [Sports Witness](https://sportwitness.co.uk/manchester-united-valencia-initiate-transfer-talks-confirmed-sport-witness/)).

And according to Spanish outlet [Super Deporte](https://www.superdeporte.es/valencia/2017/08/21/peter-lim-viaja-inglaterra-cerrar/345404.html), the club’s owner Peter Lim has flown from Paris to England to conclude a deal for the 21-year-old, who has not featured in any of United’s first three games this season.

Pereira spent last season on loan at La Liga side Granada, making 37 appearances and managing to impress despite the club being relegated.

The Belgian-born Brazilian kept in touch with United manager José Mourinho during his loan spell and was rewarded with consistent appearances during the Reds’ pre-season travels this summer, impressing in an unfamiliar deep-lying midfield role.

The lack of playing time for Pereira so far has probably encouraged Los Che to try and sign the midfielder on loan, although it is understood that Mourinho is reluctant to let the Brazilian leave again, given United’s gruelling schedule this season.

Pereira is understood to want regular football this season, and in an interview with [ESPN FC](https://www.espn.co.uk/football/club/manchester-united/360/blog/post/3171470/andreas-pereira-seeks-a-chance-to-impress-jose-mourinho-in-manchester-united-first-team) in August, reiterated his desire to break into the first-team reckoning at Old Trafford:

> *I’ve had a good preseason; I’ve showed that I’ve learned during my time away on loan and I also have more to show.*
>
> *I just want to make sure that I can show everyone at the training ground and inside the stadium what I can do. I want to continue my development and find a way into the team.*
>
> *I see myself staying; I want to play football and play minutes for United.*
