# Mourinho nominated for Manager of the Month award

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has been nominated for the August Premier League Manager of the Month Award.

This comes as no surprise given that United won all of their games during the month and currently sit top of the Premier League table. It also follows the news that Phil Jones, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Romelu Lukaku are all [up for the equivalent Player of the Month award](https://readmanutd.com/2017/09/01/three-united-players-up-for-pl-player-of-the-month-award/).

Mourinho made four signings in the summer transfer window, bringing in Lukaku from Everton along with Victor Lindelof from Benfica and Nemanja Matic from rivals Chelsea.

The Portuguese manager also moved Wayne Rooney on to boyhood club Everton, sold Adnan Januzaj to La Liga side Real Sociedad and allowed fringe right-back Guillermo Varela to move to Penarol.

United are the only side in the league to have won all three of their Premier League games in August and have done so without conceding a single goal, beating West Ham United and Swansea City 4-0 before beating Craig Shakespeare’s Leicester City 2-0 at Old Trafford.

Nominated for the award alongside Mourinho are Manchester City’s Pep Guardiola, West Bromwich Albion boss Tony Pulis, Huddersfield Town man David Wagner and Liverpool’s Jurgen Klopp.
