United given encouragement in Asensio chase
Manchester United appear to have been handed a boost in their bid to sign Real Madrid star Marco Asensio.
According to a report from Spanish news outlet Diario Gol, as cited by the Manchester Evening News, the playmaker has delivered the club an ultimatum regarding his future.
Asensio’s game time has been extremely limited at the Bernabeu this season despite him showing on numerous occasions that he is a capable player for the club. This has led him to find his future under scrutiny at the club, with his relationship with manager Zinedine Zidane often claimed to be frosty.
Now, though, it’s claimed by Diario Gol that Asensio has told Real that if Zidane stays at the club beyond the end of the season, he would like to seek pastures new.
Manchester United have been linked with a host of Real players, with Asensio among them. Jose Mourinho has reiterated that he is not targeting attacking players this summer but if the young playmaker does become available, a move could be on the cards.
