United ready to use defender in Alex Sandro deal
Manchester United are hoping to make a summer move for Juventus star Alex Sandro with full-back Matteo Darmian to be included as part of the deal, according to the Mirror.
United’s boss Jose Mourinho has had his representatives watch the player for some time since his move from Porto three seasons ago.
The 27-year-old is in-demand and has been linked with both Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain in recent transfer windows.
Mourinho is keen to keep Luke Shaw among the ranks while also having an experienced defender with Ashley Young’ reaching the latter stages of his career.
Sandro has been valued at £70 million by the Turin side and is expected to command plenty of interest once again this summer.
It is yet to be seen whether or not Chelsea will rekindle their interest in the player with the Blues likely to miss out on a place inside the top four this season.
