Manchester United could sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk
Manchester United will sign Fred from Shakhtar Donetsk if Manchester City fail to do so this summer, according to the Ukrainian club’s chief executive.

Fred is currently enjoying the best season of his career to date having established himself as a hugely important cog in Paulo Fonseca’s team at Shakhtar.
The Brazilian has been catching the eye of many top clubs across Europe and a move to Manchester City has been widely discussed on a number of occasions. Pep Guardiola is a known admirer of Fred and his qualities as a midfielder.
Although, if Sergei Palkin is to be believed, there is an outside chance that Fred will join Manchester United this summer if City do indeed fail to recruit him.
Fred’s form this season is sure to lead Shakhtar to demanding a huge sum for his services should they choose to sanction a sale. It’s been previously claimed that a fee worth in the region of £50m will be required.
