Arsene Wenger is keen on the player and sees him as the ideal option to bring in should the young Spaniard depart from the Emirates.
Darmian has mainly being given chances to impress in the EFL Cup this season with him finding it difficult to even feature on the bench in the Premier League and Champions League.
He came to the club with a good pedigree but has found it tough to make a positive impact.
