Manchester United have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich defender Jerome Boateng, who has declared that he is “considering his future”.
The Germany international has been linked with a switch to Old Trafford from the Allianz Arena this summer, and the 29-year old hasn’t moved to rule out a move away from the German champions at the end of the season.
Talking to Socrates magazine, as quoted by Mirror Sport, Boateng said;
I’ve experienced everything at FC Bayern, and I am slowly coming to a point where I must ask myself certain questions.
What are the goals I have not reached yet? Do I, time and time again, want to prove myself at the same club with the same pre-conditions?’
Those are not necessarily classic questions regarding the career, but vital questions and, in the end, questions that drive people.
United have frequently been linked with a big money move for a new central defender this summer, and Boateng could be the man who help them push Manchester City in the title chase next season.
