Manchester United are in a battle with Liverpool over the signing of promising Nottingham Forest youngster Matthew Bondswell, according to ESPN.
The left-back has played a vital role for Forest’s Under-18 side this term and has attracted interest from two of the country’s strongest sides.
He has also performed well at youth level with England, putting in a number of top quality performances.
The Championship outfit are hopeful of keeping the player at the club, but the player is seemingly refusing to sign a new deal with Forest as they try to tie him down to a scholarship deal.
As a result of this, United and Liverpool have been attracted to the situation and both are considering a move to land Bondswell.
The defender is a keen Liverpool fan and it’s thought that this could have some form of influence with regards to where he ends up, providing that they do indeed pursue him.
It looks set to be an interesting battle between the two to complete the signing of the player, who is being tipped for big things.
