United to compete with PSG for Ghoulam
Manchester United are reportedly ready to hijack Paris St Germain’s potential deal for Napoli defender Faouzi Ghoulam, according to Calcio Mercato.
The left-back is seen as a potential replacement for Luke Shaw, who has been in and out of favour with boss José Mourinho.
Shaw is reportedly tired of inconsistencies and would like to leave Old Trafford this summer.
United have been linked with left-backs such as Fulham’s wonderkid Ryan Sessegnon, who has scored 16 goals for the Cottagers this season and is still just 17 years of age.
The Red Devils have also been linked with Juventus star Alex Sandro, who reportedly wants to leave Turin, with Chelsea also interested in the Old Lady star.
The latest number three to be linked with a move to Old Trafford is Napoli’s Faouzi Ghoulam, who has been an integral part of the Napoli squad since he joined from Saint-Etienne back in 2014.
However, Ghoulam has missed 31 games this season with a cruciate ligament rupture followed by a fractured kneecap. He is recovering now the season has finished and is ready to start pre-season training.
A deal to take Ghoulam to PSG had looked increasingly likely, but with United now said to be interested in the left-back he could have his head turned towards playing Premier League football.
