Fred pleased with United interest
Manchester United target Fred has admitted that he is happy to hear he is being tracked by the club, but the Shakhtar Donetsk midfielder wants to fully focus on this summer’s World Cup in Russia, according to the Evening Standard.
There have been numerous rumours linking the player with a move to OId Trafford in recent weeks and months, and it now appears that a move for the player is close.
City rivals Manchester City were also keen on him in January, but it appears that their interest has now faded.
It’s thought that a bid of £44million will be needed to prise the Brazilian away from the Ukraine this summer and this is a figure United are happy to meet.
The Brazilian spoke about his future in a recent interview, saying:
The talks had been in progress since January with City. Soon after, City and United talked to Shakhtar and my agents.
And now, if I’m not mistaken, there was news of a very strong bid from United.
As far as negotiations go, I am only [focusing] on the World Cup. You just think about that, forget about other things. My agents are taking care of it.
It is an honour to have the attention of the great coaches of Europe.
