# Manchester United linked with move for Lyon midfielder

Manchester United are eyeing a move to sign Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer, according to Le10 Sport, as cited on [Manchester Evening News](https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/man-utd-ndombele-transfer-news-14812509).

United boss Jose Mourinho is keen on the player and sees him playing a big part in his long-term plans at Manchester United.

Lyon are hoping they will not be forced into selling the player after only signing him on a permanent deal themselves after a loan move from Amiens last season.

It’s thought that Lyon would be wanting a figure of near €50 million if they were to agree a fee with United for the 21-year-old midfielder.

Manchester City, Tottenham and Juventus have all been linked with a move for the player whose reputation throughout Europe has risen throughout the last 12 month.

This would mean that United would need to offload a midfielder in order to bring him in, casting doubts over the long-term future of Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera.
