# United targeting Lewandowski and Alcantara

Manchester United are chasing deals for Bayern Munich duo Robert Lewandowski and Thiago Alcantara, the [Independent](https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/transfers/manchester-united-transfer-news-man-utd-lewandowski-thiago-gareth-bale-alderweireld-alex-sandro-luke-a8452906.html) reports.

The Bundesliga giants are believed to be open to selling the pair, with United extremely interested.

United came close to signing Thiago in 2013 from Barcelona before he changed his mind last-minute and opted to join up with Pep Guardiola at Bayern.

Despite United again wanting to try and tempt Thiago to Old Trafford, it is believed that the player is waiting to see if his former club Barcelona make a bid for him.

United boss Jose Mourinho is also a long-term admirer of Bayern forward Lewandowski.

United have been persistently linked with the Poland international in recent transfer windows, however there is also interest in the striker from both Chelsea and Real Madrid.

Whilst United have the money to go in for both players, it is believed that Thiago and Lewandowski may favour moves to Barcelona and Real respectively.
