# Shaw a target for Wolfsburg

Manchester United left-back Luke Shaw is a target for Bundesliga side Wolfsburg, the [Daily Mail](https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6011209/Wolfsburg-interested-Manchester-United-Luke-Shaw.html) reports.

Shaw is now into the final year of his contract at Old Trafford and despite struggling for game time under Mourinho, it is believed that the 23-year-old has no desire to leave the club this summer.

Wolfsburg are expressing an interest in signing the United defender this transfer window, but the England international will be a free agent next summer and free to talk to foreign clubs about a potential deal in January.

Shaw has previously spoken about wanting to earn a new deal at United but will have his work cut out if he is to convince manager Jose Mourinho that he deserves a starting place in the side’s opening Premier League fixture against Leicester City next weekend.

Mourinho is currently short on full-back options going into the start of the season, with Diego Dalot and Antonio Valencia both out injured.

Want-away full-back Matteo Darmian has also been consistently linked with a move away from the club this summer with both Juventus and Napoli interested in gaining his signature.
