**Legendary former Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson has reportedly been taken to the hospital after feeling unwell at Old Trafford. The Scot was set to attend today’s clash between the Red Devils and Liverpool.**

According to Ian Ladyman of The Daily Mail, Ferguson was taken into medical care “purely as a precaution.” Club officials are “optimistic” that he will be back home soon to recuperate.

## Sir Alex Taken to Hospital

According to [The Sun](https://www.thesun.co.uk/sport/39001917/alex-ferguson-hospital-man-utd-medical-emergency/), the 84-year-old was “whisked to an ambulance” before the game. A source said that the iconic former coach “sat up” and “okay.”

Ferguson was said to have headed home, and we wish the greatest manager well, and hopefully, he recovers. The concern is his history of health issues, including a brain haemorrhage that nearly claimed his life back in May 2018.

Sir Alex revealed in his 2021 film ‘Sir Alex Ferguson: Never Give In’ that he was told: “There were five brain haemorrhages that day. Three died. Two survived. You know you are lucky.”

United head coach Michael Carrick has since commented following a 3-2 win over Liverpool. He told reporters in his post-match press conference:\
\
“I haven’t got any updates. I was aware before the game. We were affected by the news, and we wish him all the best. I hope the result when he hears about it will give him a boost.”

The club have yet to give a statement on the situation but Ferguson appears to have returned home.
