## Manchester United Ready to Exploit Newcastle Chaos in Lewis Hall Pursuit

Manchester United are ready to capitalise on the upheaval at Newcastle United by moving for left-back Lewis Hall, according to a flurry of reports on Friday. With St James’ Park in turmoil following Eddie Howe’s departure, the Red Devils are said to be weighing a summer bid for the England international, as flagged in [BBC Sport’s transfer round-up](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiakFVX3lxTFBWZHZodjZQN1JWbnR1c0ZhNF9rdjNDSVJvWjlReGlCa2xFWTEyd3dELWVaOHp3QkFmYUZvVzVaRWpaWHliTFpZMmlPYmRFR2lMek5HSGJ1VDBXOEpfbkFiSms5YnBjVjIxakE?oc=5).

## Why United switched focus to Lewis Hall

The interest marks a notable shift in Old Trafford’s recruitment plans. The Sun report that Michael Carrick’s side have switched their attention from a new left winger to a left-back, with Hall now viewed as the priority in that department. United already have Luke Shaw, Patrick Dorgu and Tyrell Malacia on the left of the defence, but the club’s decision-makers are understood to see the versatile Hall — at home at both full-back and wing-back — as a long-term upgrade. Newcastle’s instability is being seen as the opening that could bring a deal within reach.

talkSPORT report that Hall could be available for around £50m and suggest the defender himself may be open to a fresh start should the Magpies’ rebuild stall. As ever with mid-window speculation, no formal bid has been confirmed and United have made no public comment on their interest.

For now it remains a link rather than a done deal, but with the window open and Newcastle in flux, expect the Lewis Hall saga to rumble on across the coming weeks. Supporters can follow [United’s summer transfer business](https://readmanutd.com/category/transfers/) as every twist develops.
