## Manchester United Eye Arsenal Defender as Lewis Hall Alternative

Manchester United are exploring a move for an **Arsenal defender** as an alternative to primary target Lewis Hall, according to fresh reports. [Goal.com](https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMipgFBVV95cUxQVVh2MWNra3huVHpmeXpKWmJLbzFOaGk2a3BfRWlncmd4Vm5sd1pDaTh2VlYydjhFVW43NVZIcVlhaHBLdEZlTzE2WjlTM2tna2o4cndWemhJZHY2bm9TSUhMYTYzNHptSzhhdVVfNEg3VmR0QlRqc1JJbTY5MjB4NGMtT0VheHJFNGltajktcVUtMm1VWDJiSDZjSWQ4c1R5OVJWTHhR?oc=5) claims the Red Devils have lined up the Gunners man as Michael Carrick looks to bolster his options at left-back before the transfer window shuts.

United have made Newcastle’s Lewis Hall their leading left-back target this summer, but the club are said to be weighing up alternatives should that deal prove awkward to complete. ## Why an Arsenal Defender Makes Sense

No fee has been reported and Arsenal are under no pressure to sell, so any approach would leave Mikel Arteta facing a squad dilemma of his own. For United, though, the interest underlines a clear determination to add competition and defensive depth on the left side before the deadline.

With the window entering its final weeks, expect United’s hunt for a new left-back — whether it ends with Hall or an Arsenal alternative — to be one of the defining sagas of their summer at Old Trafford.
