# Manchester United enter Ibrahim Mbaye race as PSG open transfer door

**Manchester United have reportedly entered the race to sign Paris Saint-Germain forward Ibrahim Mbaye, with the French champions prepared to consider a sale at the right price. An Ibrahim Mbaye to Manchester United move is not advanced, however, with several major European clubs competing for the 18-year-old.**

[Fresh reporting from **L’Équipe**](https://www.lequipe.fr/Football/Actualites/Plusieurs-pretendants-avancent-leurs-pions-pour-ibrahim-mbaye-qui-pourrait-etre-la-prochaine-vente-parisienne/1709345?utm_source=chatgpt.com) says United are among the clubs pursuing Mbaye as his future at PSG comes under increasing scrutiny.

PSG are willing to sell if an acceptable offer arrives, but Mbaye has yet to make a final decision on his next club. Liverpool and Borussia Dortmund are also prominent in the race for the Senegal international.

## Ibrahim Mbaye to Manchester United adds transfer intrigue

United’s presence in the race is particularly interesting after an apparent change in their attacking plans.

[ReadManUtd reported earlier on Friday that United had paused their search for another winger](https://readmanutd.com/2026/08/07/man-utd-pause-winger-search-as-marcus-rashford-prepares-for-return/) as Marcus Rashford prepares to return to Michael Carrick’s squad.

The new Mbaye report suggests United are still prepared to explore opportunities involving elite young talent, even if another senior winger is no longer considered an immediate priority.

Mbaye fits that profile.

The teenager can operate across the forward line and has already gained senior experience for PSG and Senegal. He remains behind several established attacking stars in Paris, increasing speculation over whether greater first-team opportunities could be available elsewhere.

United would face serious competition if they decide to push ahead.

Liverpool have already been strongly linked with Mbaye, while Dortmund’s track record of giving young attacking players regular senior football provides another attractive option.

For now, Ibrahim Mbaye to Manchester United remains at the interest stage rather than an advanced negotiation.

The significant development is that United are now being named among the clubs actively in the race while PSG leave the door open to a permanent departure.
