# Head Coach backs Man Utd youngsters ahead of West Ham test

**Manchester United head coach Eva Olid has backed her young players to step up again when the Women’s team face West Ham on Sunday.**

[Manchester United](https://readmanutd.com/tag/manchester-united/) are still looking for their first [Women’s Super League](https://readmanutd.com/tag/womens-super-league-2/) win of the new season, but Olid has no hesitation in trusting the younger members of her squad.

[Speaking to club media before the Sunday clash](https://www.manutd.com/en/news/eva-olid-on-young-players-ahead-of-united-women-v-west-ham), Olid explained why she was happy to make changes despite the team still waiting for a league victory.

“We still hadn’t won a match, so I could have used the same starting line-up as Sunday \[against Arsenal\],” Olid said. “But I trust these young players and the other players who started to put in a good performance.”

She added that the attacking players given an opportunity had already shown enough for her to have confidence in them.

## **Eva Olid wants United to find the right balance**

[Eva Olid](https://readmanutd.com/tag/eva-olid/) is now looking for United to combine the strongest parts of their recent performances when West Ham visit the Progress With Unity Stadium.

“Sunday is an opportunity to show that we can dominate against a really good side and have the confidence to play with the ball,” she said.

Olid wants the team to bring together the defensive effort shown against Arsenal with the composure they displayed against Sheffield United.

“If we combine both performances, it will be perfect for the team,” she added.

The United boss also stressed the importance of home support, saying the stadium is beginning to feel more like home with the fans behind the players.

However, she expects a difficult afternoon against West Ham, describing the Irons as a dangerous side with direct forwards.

“They know what they are doing,” Olid said. “That makes them a difficult team, but I think it will be a really good and competitive match.”
