Red Devils to remain with Nike during pre-season

Red Devils to remain with Nike during pre-season

There’s a new signing worth £750 million at Old Trafford, but it gets even better. It’s sticking around for 10 years! However, the deal won’t come into play before the regular 2015/16 season is underway. Manchester United will be obliged to stick it out with their old kit suppliers as the contract expires, not until the final day of July. This means the club will be jetting off on a west coast tour bearing the Nike tick. But if I had one piece of advice? Just do it. Adidas attire has always been a class above the rest, something about the stripes that make for an air of sophistication somewhat.

It may seem minor news, but this could be a milestone in the Red Devils’ history. They were last in partnership with Adidas, in 1992 and it brought them much success. Hopefully, it can do the same this time around, but the United faithful will be forced to wait it out until 1 August. It seems ideal also, that the tour of the States will be cut short; firstly as it takes its toll on the players when the campaign kicks in, but also, the fans will get to see their beloved team on home soil in shiny, new ensemble.

Adidas may have got one over on Nike, but it seems Nike were very much prepared for this blow and are equally dealing some damage, by preventing their rivals from gaining some bonus publicity in America. Just to show you how much advertising they’re missing out on, figures say 362,119 turned up to see the squad abroad.

Additionally, possible designs for away and third shirts were leaked to the web recently and it sure looks smart, in my opinion. Rather retro but there’s nothing wrong with a return to the good old days. Perhaps it could restore glory to the Reds and return some silverware to its rightful owners. It’s all about mentality and I sure would be in the right frame of mind in these or at least something similar.
