Manchester United have confirmed this morning that Owen Hargreaves will play in the Legends are Back game against Bayern Munich at Old Trafford.
The game will take place on Sunday 14th June 2015, with Bryan Robson taking charge of the United side. This game will be the “second leg”, with Paul Scholes and Dwight Yorke having been on the score sheet in a 3-3 draw in Munich last time out.
Hargreaves converted his penalty emphatically in United’s shootout win over Chelsea in the 2008 Champions League Final. He made over 200 appearances for Bayern before making the switch to Manchester in 2007.
Edwin van der Sar, Jaap Stam, Paul Scholes, Andy Cole and Dwight Yorke have all confirmed for the Red Devils, while Bayern Munich, led by Paul Breitner, will boast the talents of Mark van Bommel, Giovane Elber and Dieter Hamann.
The first outing for the legends saw the likes of Tomasz Kuszczak, Quinton Fortune, Dennis Irwin and Jasper Blomqvist don the jersey for the visitors, while the hosts opted for names including Markus Babbel, Hans-Jorg Butt and Hans Pflugler.
Owen Hargreaves will feature for both Manchester United and Bayern Munich during the clash.
