Reports suggest that Manchester United are said to up their interest in signing Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling this coming window.
The Mirror claim that Louis van Gaal is prepared to offer fierce rivals Liverpool £25 million for the 20-year-old. Manchester United did make an enquiry for Sterling early last month but were immediately rejected by the Merseyside club.
The Dutch manager is said to find Sterling as one of the most exciting young talents in the Premier League and will refuse to give up pursuing the winger. Liverpool were prepared to begin contract talks with the Englishman last month but Raheem reportedly refused contract talks and seeked a move away from the club.
Van Gaal has already begun to prepare for next season with the purchase of winger Memphis Depay, and several United players have stated that they are ready to fight for the title next season. However, several other European clubs are said to be very interested in signing the forward.
Reports also suggest that Manchester City are prepared to offer £40 million to Liverpool to help lure the unsettled player to the blue side of Manchester.
After his appointment as Real Madrid manager earlier today, Rafa Benitez stated that he is interested in brining Sterling to Madrid. Benitez is the one who signed Sterling from Queens Park Rangers back in 2010.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Bayern Munich are also said to be monitoring the situation in Merseyside.
