Young PSV star Rai Vloet has spoken of how he dreams of following in the footsteps of Memphis Depay, by playing for Manchester United.
Depay has recently completed his reported £23 million move to Old Trafford after a sensational season in the Eredivisie, claiming the golden boot to go along with the Dutch title, and Vloet also wants to make a similar impact at PSV.
He is expected to step up to the first team following Depay’s departure, and he has already shown signs of his potential with the Netherland’s Under 17’s and Under 20’s side. His impressive form at Jong PSV, the reserve team of the Eindhoven giants, where he scored nine goals in 39 matches, earned him a regular spot in the senior matchday squad.
And the 20-year-old is already dreaming of securing a move to United. “That is something I dream about [playing for Manchester United]”, Vloet told Dutch football website Onsoranje.
He was quick to insist, however, that his attention is firmly on cementing his place at PSV. “My focus is now first with PSV and Dutch youth team. Let me first excel there, then the rest will follow”.
Manchester United and Louis van Gaal may now take more notice of another young Dutch prodigy and keep an eye on his progress at PSV Eindhoven.
