Manchester United are reported to be in talks with Morgan Schneiderlin.
The Red Devils have been interested in getting the signature of this young French midfielder who is in talks with his current club Southampton.
The 25-year-old is currently in negotiations with the Saints and the club is expected to release him for a fee no less than 25 million pounds.
He was rumored to be in an intense transfer speculation last summer and has proved himself to be one of the most coveted central midfielders this year.
United’s rivals Tottenham and Arsenal were the other clubs who were in the race to sign him but they both look to have settled this problem by getting in necessary reinforcements such as Christian Eriksen and Francis Coquelin.
It was reported that he wanted to join Arsenal but was made to stay at the St. Mary’s by the south east club. In an interview to a French radio he said “The negotiations are ongoing and should be completed in the coming days. Hopefully before the resumption of [Southampton’s pre-season] training next week.”
This has added to the speculation that he’ll mostly likely not be joining Spurs as he desires to play Champions League football next season and apparently United can offer him that. The Red Devils have been searching a fine central midfielder for a long time now as a replacement for Englishman Michael Carrick who is 33. They have not seen any positive signs in their previous targets such as Ilkay Gundogan and Bastian Schweinsteiger and the availability of Schneiderlin can turn to be a much needed boost for the club.
Schneiderlin has made over 250 appearances for the Saints, with 15 goals on his name and has thrived to be a fine talent in the Premier League.
