Memphis Depay arrives at Manchester United from PSV as the Dutch Eredivisie’s top goalscorer and one of the hottest prospects in world football. Already a full international and tipped to be United’s (eventual) answer to losing Cristiano Ronaldo back in 2009, Depay can play on the wing, in attacking midfield, or as a secondary striker. It is this versatility which van Gaal loves to have in his squad, as we have seen with his acquisitions of Daley Blind and Marcos Rojo last summer.
Whilst pictures of the full squad back in their first day of training are yet to do the rounds, manutd.com have supplied some pictures of Memphis Depay being put through his paces at the Aon Training Complex – watched closely by Louis van Gaal.
