It’s been on the lips of spectators all close and pre-season with only a year remaining on his current contract, Manchester United will wish to avoid a panic sale in January should he refuse an extension on his deal. Although his value to the club could see the La Liga giants secure his services for all but a single penny with Louis van Gaal threatening that he’s willing to let him leave cost free as long as the 24-year-old remains on their books during the 2015/16 Champions League campaign.
A series of links to various shot-stoppers coming in left, right, and centre over the span of the past few weeks suggests United are preparing for life after the Spaniard. However, Reds fans will be hopeful that this is simply to provide cover with Valdes growing tired of rotting in the dugout.

One things for sure, a carefully thought up ‘#WelcomeDeGea’ hashtag will be doing the rounds tonight, you United enthusiasts might want to steer clear of social media this evening!
