Van Persie Saw United Exit Coming

Robin van Persie has officially completed his move to Turkish giants Fenerbahce, bring to an end his three-year stay at Old Trafford. The Dutch forward has admitted that he could see his departure from United coming but that he “has no hard feelings” over how the situation unfolded, according to BBC Sport.

Speaking at the press conference to announce his arrival, some 10,000 Fenerbahce supporters were there to witness his unveiling, the 31-year old told reporters that he had “got used to the idea” of leaving United.

“It’s part of football, it’s part of life. It was a situation where I could see it coming, if I’m really honest”, he said, “I had a good moment with the players the day before I came to Istanbul so that was special.

Then you see that everyone really appreciated my time there, that was important for me.”

Van Persie also praised the “very classy” way Ed Woodward handled the transfer. He leaves Old Trafford having scored 58 goals in 105 games, 26 of those finishes coming as United won the Premier League title in 2013.
