Despite the early kick-off (4am for supporters in the UK) Twitter was as busy as ever and the supporters were full of excitement ahead of Manchester United’s first game of their pre-season tour.
There was plenty of anticipation ahead of seeing the new signings in action and this dominated the pre-match talk.
New boy Memphis Depay was excited as anyone prior to making his début.
Another summer acquisition, Morgan Schneiderlin made an immediate impact, much to the delight of the supporters.
Supporters were full of praise for the French midfielder and fellow new recruit Matteo Darmian.
At half time and the prospect of a completely new starting eleven, supporters turned their attention to seeing a certain Bastian Schweinsteiger in a United shirt.
In the second half, young Brazilian attacker Andreas Pereira stole the show and excited the supporters.
At the end of the game the majority of supporters were satisfied with the performance and the result.
Louis van Gaal’s side take on San Jose Earthquake’s next week in their second pre-season fixture. If tonight’s reaction is anything to go by, the supporters are incredibly excited about the new campaign.
