According to Manchester Evening News, Manchester United are NOT about to make their second raid on Bayern Munich for Thomas Muller.
Reports in Germany, particularly ‘Sport 1′, suggest that the Reds have tabled a £69.5m bid and a five-year contract for the German have been confirmed as untrue.
Louis van Gaal has already indicated that he is satisfied with his forwards going into the new season with Wayne Rooney as the leading striker with backup from Memphis Depay and possibly James Wilson and Javier Hernandez.
Muller was promoted to Bayern’s senior ranks by van Gaal in 2009, along with midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger, who has already been lured away from the Allianz Arena to Old Trafford by the United boss.
The German international has scored 71 goals in 196 appearances for Bayern, with 13 of them coming last season. The foward will be very difficult to prize away from the Allianz Arena after having a long term passion for the club.
