The Angel Di Maria move to PSG seems to be completed, after Get Football News France reported that the Argentine has spoken about how delighted he is to be joining Ibrahimović and co. in Paris.
In an interview with BeIN Sports FR, Di Maria said:
“I am very happy to join PSG. What I know about PSG is that it is a team that won all the possible trophies in France last season. This is very important for the club.”
He continued talking about the Champions League, which United were absent from last season but will compete in if they can overcome their opponents in qualifying.
“I also know that I want to overcome the obstacle that is the quarter finals of the Champions League. I am going to try to bring the best of my abilities to put myself at the service of this team. We are going to try and go as far as possible in the Champions League.”
So, Di Maria departs Old Trafford after just one season leaving a bitter taste in many fans’ mouths. There are a number of reasons that could be judged as the reason for his poor form, from not having a proper rest between seasons, to his family being burgled at knife point. But the way he showed the club no respect by refusing to join up with the team in America will stick in the minds of many fans for years to come.
