The transfer saga that has dominated the back pages of all newspapers around Europe has finally neared a finish. David de Gea looks to be on his way out of United as Real Madrid have agreed a deal for the Spanish international.
The move has been expected to take place all summer and his finally been completed late this evening. The shot stopper is believed to have cost Real Madrid €40 million(£29 million) as well as a part exchange for the Costa Rican goal keeper Keylor Navas.
The move is believed to have been delayed due to a struggle with Keylor Navas. Reportedly the Costa Rican was not happy going to England, preferring a move to Italy or Germany instead. However, Navas has now agreed to move to the Manchester club and therefore the transfer can be completed.
The deal would see de Gea made the second most expensive goalkeeper ever second only to the fee paid for Buffon by Juventus all those years ago and ahead of the fee paid by Bayern Munich for the German No. 1 Manuel Neuer.
