Valdes set to end dismal United career?

Valdes set to end dismal United career?

The Express are reporting that Manchester United are willing to terminate Spanish ‘keeper Victor Valdes’ contract, however, not if he wants to join Liverpool or Chelsea.

Valdes has been out of favour with Louis Van Gaal following his reported refusal to turn out for United’s under-21 side last season. This angered the United manager to the point where he froze the Spaniard out of the first team picture.

He has been training away from the first team and hasn’t made any of van Gaal’s matchday squads, despite David De Gea being absent for the first few weeks.

However, De Gea has stayed and now he is first choice, with Romero second choice. This leaves Valdes in limbo at United and according to these reports, United are ready to end his miserable stay in England.

His deal runs until the end of the current season, however, United are ready to buy-out his contract by paying the remainder of his wages and allowing him to go and find another club. The only problem with this is that they do not want him joining a rival side, such as Chelsea and Liverpool, who were both previously linked with the ex-Barcelona shot-stopper.

Liverpool are still looking to add competition for Simon Mignolet and Chelsea need a back-up to Asmir Begovic following the injury to their first choice, Thibaut Courtois.

Valdes was close to a move to Turkey in the summer. A move to Besiktas looked certain, however, it broke down due Valdes’ personal demands as the Turkish side were unwilling to match his asking price.
