Manchester United midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin is feeling optimistic heading into what is going to be a very busy and very important period for the club.
The France international, who joined the Red Devils from Southampton this summer, knows that the pressure is on as we head towards the packed festive schedule, but feels the side are in a good position to succeed.
To best set themselves for this crucial period, United will want to pick up three points against Leicester City this coming weekend. The game at the King Power Stadium is a much higher-profile tie than it perhaps would have been expected to be – with Claudio Ranieri’s side currently top of the Barclay’s Premier League.
Speaking to MUTV, Schneiderlin said:
“It’s very important to start this period on top of the table and carry on building confidence before games on Boxing Day and over Christmas”
“We know we can build on the strong back four, we aren’t going to concede many goals and it’s very good to be sure about a strength like this.

“If you want to win the league, you need strong foundations and a strong defence and that’s what we have. We want to take this game and win; we’ll make sure that Leicester find it difficult.”
United’s defence is the best in the league so far this season – Louis van Gaal’s men have conceded just nine goals. Leicester, on the other hand, have conceded twenty goals. However, the Foxes have scored nine more goals than United. On this evidence, Saturday evening’s fixture between the two sides is likely to provide action at both ends of the pitch – don’t be expecting another goalless draw from the Red Devils!
