Four Things We Learned: Man United 0-0 Chelsea

Manchester United were once again held to a goalless draw at Old Trafford, this time by struggling Chelsea, but on this occasion, it may have bought United manager Louis van Gaal more time to turn things around.

The performance was much improved from the Reds, as they came flying out of the blocks. Juan Mata and Anthony Martial saw their efforts hit the woodwork in the first-half, while Ander Herrera saw his effort unexplicably kept out by Thibault Courtois in the second half.

Chelsea also had chances of their own, with John Terry’s header saved by David de Gea in the early going, while the Spaniard had to make a double save to keep out fellow countrymen Pedro and Cesar Azpilicueta in the second half. However, Nemanja Matic perhaps had the best chance of the game, somehow skying over when through on goal.

It was certainly a topsy-turvy affair, with United in the ascendancy for the most part, but what did we learn from the game?
