United draw Derby for fourth round of FA Cup

Manchester United have drawn Championship side Derby County for the fourth round of the FA Cup, which will take place on 30 January.

The Rams scraped through after they beat League Two side Hartlepool, with Darren Bent grabbing the late winner in that game as Derby came from behind to win 2-1.

United can take light from the fact the last time the two sides faced ended in a 4-1 sending the Red Devils’ into the quarter-finals.

Derby have been prolific in front of goal this season scoring 37 goals, and conceding just 17 in 25 league games, and despite losing to Middlesbrough in their last league game, are currently in good form.

Louis van Gaal will hope that there’s a more convincing performance than in their 1-0 win against Sheffield United, as Derby are likely to prove more difficult opponents.

Van Gaal’s job is still under scrutiny and it’s not entirely certain that the United boss will still be there when United travel to the iPro.
