For the first time since 2011, Manchester United will be in the FA Cup semi-finals at Wembley, after a 2-1 victory against West Ham at the last-ever cup game at the Boleyn Ground.
United produced a wonderful performance in East London tonight – a far cry from the second half capitulation against Tottenham on Sunday – to book their place at Wembley, where they will play Everton on April 23 to see if they can reach their first FA Cup final since 2007.
Marcus Rashford scored the opener in the second half with a terrific finish which just crept under the crossbar, before Marouane Fellaini added a second after the hour mark, leaving the Reds with one foot in the semi-final with twenty minutes remaining.
However, James Tomkins’ header ensured a nervy final ten minutes, but United kept their cool and Louis van Gaal will definitely be happy with his side’s performance.
