The story so far: David de Gea’s top five saves

Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea has become one of the club’s best ever goalkeeper’s since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011.

The Spaniard is in his fifth season at Old Trafford and, despite looking a little lightweight in his first campaign with the Reds, has been putting in sensational performances pretty much ever since his transfer to the club.

De Gea had to be quietly alert to make saves when it mattered in his first few seasons as the Reds pursued two Premier League titles, but has been called into further action in more recent campaigns. The Spaniard has been on hand to save United with some excellent saves on so many occasions in the last few years.

With the superb contribution he has made to the club, there’s a strong argument to suggest that De Gea is also the club’s best ever Spanish player – vote on that here.
