Manchester United finished their Premier League season with a 3-1 win against Bournemouth at Old Trafford on Tuesday.
The game, originally scheduled to take place at the weekend, turned out to be an uneventful one with little at stake for either side. United only needed a point to claim fifth place, whilst Bournemouth might have upped their prize money for their finishing position had they got a result.
However, after the bomb scare drama which took place on Sunday, the Reds looked comfortable on their way to a routine victory over Eddie Howe’s team.
Wayne Rooney put the home side ahead towards the end of a quiet first half, before Marcus Rashford and Ashley Young enhanced the margin of victory with strikes after the break.
David de Gea was hoping for a clean sheet to take him onto 16 Premier League shutouts for the campaign, but that feat was made impossible when Max Gradel’s shot was deflected in off Chris Smalling in the dying moments of the game.
Overall, though, the Reds would have been satisfied with their night’s work against the Cherries. Here are our player ratings from the last match of the season at Old Trafford.
