Man United make improved offer for attacking midfielder

The Mirror has reported that Manchester United have improved their offer to £28 million for Borussia Dortmund’s Henrikh Mkhitaryan.

Man United originally bid £19million for the Armenian international, but it was quickly rejected by Borussia Dortmund, who want to keep him in Germany for one more year, despite him entering the last season of his contract

There seems to be a back-and-forth for the 27-year-old. While Borussia Dortmund have said that he won’t leave the club this summer like teammates Mats Hummels and Ilkay Gundogan, Mkhitaryan would like to move.

His agent Mina Raiola recently confirmed interest from Manchester United, and that they won’t stop negotiating.

Mkhitaryan signed for Borussia Dortmund three years ago from Ukrainian side Shakhtar Donetsk. Last season was his best at the side, as he scored 11 goals in 31 Bundesliga appearances, whilst also providing the most assists out of anyone in the league.

Dortmund may have Champions League football and Manchester United have to be happy with competing in the Europa League next season, but new manager Jose Mourinho will be wanting to get the team quickly back to the top and getting in such a quality player will improve hs squad drastically.
